Silkies
Silkies were added to the farm as a project for my children. They just adore them and enjoy their docile nature. Our Silkies are fed non-GMO grain in addition to foraging on their own. They are handled daily and are just the sweetest. We strive to breed toward the American Poultry Association's SOP. Our color focus is currently white, blue, black, and splash.
Some fun facts about Silkies...
Silkies have nearly black skin, face, comb, wattles and bones. Their feathers are hair-like in appearance and texture. They have five toes on each foot. They come in either bearded or non-bearded varieties. The recognized colors are white, black, blue, partridge, buff, gray, splash, self-blue (lavender) and paint.
