Our Story
Our journey began 10 years ago as we were looking to create a self sufficient lifestyle for our own families health and wellbeing. In that process we built a small family farm in which we can not only provide for our own family, but for our local community. We feel where our food comes from and how its treated is important which is why we strive to raise happy and healthy animals that are treated with care and are raised in nature just as they should be. We are passionate about producing food that is wholesome, pure, and ethically raised.
Our mission is to raise farm fresh products that provide a clean source of nourishment and are ethically raised. We believe in honoring our animals by utilizing every part and ensuring nothing is wasted. This means making available all products for our customers, treating our livestock guardians, and providing nutrients to our garden. This is also true with our tallow products. Tallow is a byproduct of beef processing. It's the fat, specifically the beef suet, that may have otherwise been discarded by our supplier (local farm).
Our farm is still a work in progress as we continue to build upon our vision. Each day brings new adventures, challenges, and knowledge.
Meet the Farmers
Hi there! I'm Ceirra and I'm the brains behind it all at the farm. I manage the day-to-day happenings on the farm. Almost all interactions with us, except at a Market, will be with me. I do my best to make sure everything runs smoothly and keeps moving forward.
I can't do it all alone though. My husband works hard being the muscle behind the scenes. He makes sure everything gets done in the building and heavy lifting department, even if he may not always be volunteering for the task. And my three children all help with making sure all of the animals receive ample love and attention each and every day.
When you shop our farm you are helping to support our family. All five of us participate in the day to day operations to raise our animals, provide food, and produce natural products, not only for you, but for our own family.
We know that when you try our products you will taste a difference in the meat/eggs and you will feel a difference in the skincare products. We thank you for choosing Worsham Family Farm and we look forward to serving and including you on our farm journey!
Our Herd
We keep a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats for their delicious milk and funny antics. Our herd is pampered with high quality orchard/alfalfa hay and non-GMO grain to produce a creamy milk high in butterfat for our soap. All of our soap is made using the highest percentage of fresh goat milk from our herd. We only use natural colorants (sometimes grown on our farm) and essential oil for scents.
Our Layers
Our laying hens are living their best lives roaming free and foraging everyday like God intended. They enjoy sunshine and fresh air while foraging for plants and bugs. They are supplemented with local non-GMO grain. We have a variety of breeds including Leghorns, Blue Azures, Golden Comets, Amber Links, and Buff Barred Rocks to collect a rainbow of egg colors.
Our Flock
Our flock of Cornish Cross enjoy a free range life out in the open and fresh air. They are free to explore as they please, which includes foraging for bug, vegetation, and non-GMO grain. Our chickens are encouraged to move around freely instead of being limited in their movement in an effort to increase their weight. We raise our chickens from day old chicks. They never receive any vaccines, antibiotics, hormones, or medications during their lifetime here. All of our poultry are humanely raised and processed right here on our farm.
Our Tallow
Our tallow is obtained through another local farm. They raise Herford cattle and believe in grass and grain feeding practices. All beef suet is USDA processed and then rendered on our farm.
